Texas Roast Coffeehouse was founded by Jeff and Meredith
Schneider shortly after Jeff returned from a 13 month tour in Iraq
with the U.S. Army. While there, one of the things Jeff missed most
was the chance to relax with friends and family and enjoy the
simple pleasures in life. Building a coffeehouse that was really a
part of the community and a true gathering place, not a corporate
version of one, seemed to be only natural to the Schneiders.
The store was designed around the vision of the welcoming home
of a good friend, a place where people could relax and enjoy
themselves while taking a momentary break from their busy lives.
Since day one, the guiding principles at Texas Roast have been service and freshness. We want each guest in our store to feel as welcome as they would if they were guests in our home, and we want to ensure they get world class products. We fresh roast our beans in store to ensure that the quality is second to none. We don't have any "thaw and gnaw" like you find at other coffeehouses. Meredith bakes all her treats from scratch, everyday, so everyone can enjoy some homemade baking with their fresh roasted coffee.
Jeff is the son of two teachers, both union members. Meredith's father worked for the phone company and was also a union member. They are both the grandchildren of immigrants, and thanks to their efforts and your patronage, Texas Roast is proof that the American Dream is alive and well.
